About Us
Poke Društvo Slovenija is an association of fans of the Pokémon franchise in Slovenia. Created in 1996 by the Japanese studio Game Freak, Pokémon has grown into one of the largest and most popular entertainment franchises in the world. It includes video games, trading cards, animated series, movies, toys, and many other forms of entertainment.
In Slovenia, interest in Pokémon developed in parallel with the global trend – from the first players who collected cards and watched the cartoon on television, to today’s tournaments, gatherings, and online communities. Today, Pokémon is no longer just an individual hobby but a common space for socializing, learning, and creating new friendships.
The purpose of our association is to connect the existing community, support new players, and spread knowledge of Pokémon culture in Slovenia. We organize local tournaments, meetups, and workshops, promote fair play and sportsmanship, and strive for the official introduction of the Play! Pokémon program in Slovenia. We also participate in international events and tournaments, proudly representing the Slovenian Pokémon community with a unified identity.
Poke Društvo Slovenija is open to everyone – from young players just entering the Pokémon world to experienced trainers, collectors, and enthusiasts who want to contribute to the growth of the community.
